Chemical Inventories

The National Fire protection Association (NFPA) requires that each room be posted with an NFPA diamond to indicate the hazards present in the room. Chemical/Product inventories are needed to determine these ratings. Kell’s Environmental Health and Safety Services can set up a computerized inventory of all maintenance products and chemicals at your institution.

Safety Inspections

Kell’s Environmental Health and Safety Services can assist your institution comply comply with the provisions of OSHA 29 CFR Part 1910.1200 – Hazard Communication Standard. This standard covers chemical exposure to employees who work in non-laboratory areas such as garages, machine shops, art studios, dining services, print shop, and custodial operations. Kell’s Environmental Health and Safety Services would inspect work areas and identify hazards and issues of non-compliance related to the use of hazardous chemicals and products.

Safety Data Sheets

OSHA’s Hazardous Communication Standards – (OSHA Occupational Exposure to Hazardous Chemicals in Non-Laboratory Areas – 29 CFR 1910.1200), cover non-laboratory areas where chemical maninpulation range from a small to a large amount of a variety of chemicals and products. One element of this OSHA Standard requires vendors to supply safety data sheets on each chemical, or product to be used by personal in the work place. Kell’s Environmental Health and Safety Services will review the checmical/maintence product inventory for the Facility manager and secure any needed safety data sheets to ensure compliance and help improve health and safety in the work place.

Non-Laboratory Safety Evaluations

Kell’s Environmental Health and Safety Services can evaluate components of the safety program that corresponds to each department at your institution and provide effective recommendations to ensure compliance and improve health and safety in the workplace.

Laboratory Safety Chemical Hygiene Services

Instructional Courses

Kell’s Environmental Health and Safety Services can provide short courses on safety compononents of the Hazardours Communication Standard to insure compliance and improve health and safety in the work place.
